The Kings were the generals of the different factions of the Rebel army during the war against the Lichs. Like the Dragon Knights there fate is bound to the fate of their Dragon companions. If one of them dies so to does the other, but none of them age. Currently there military strength seems unnecessary as the land has known as nothing but peace since the early days of their reign but it is maintained none the less. Queen Mia has made the discovery of life magics a priority in order to compete with the priesthood and as such a surge in scientific research as shaped the cities recently.
High King Isaac of Vandril p.
One of the two Human Dragon Kings, Isaac was the man who first climbed Mt Eradir, high above Vendril, to parley with the dragons. He is venerated as the High King in national decisions and considered exceptionally wise. Tales are still told of his actions during the revolution as he is a peerless Spellsword who wields a blade supposedly made of willpower itself. p.
King Garet of Heliopolis p.
The second Human Dragon King, Garet is also known as the Golden King as his alchemy and trade have made Heliopolis quite wealthy, and because he rides a large golden dragon. While prone to unexpected outbursts Garet is above all a man of the people, benevolent and caring. p.
King Ivan of New Sarnath p.
The Dwarven King, Ivan has at times show contempt for being relegated to the ruined city of Sarnath after the War but he is now dedicated to his people completly and has built new Sarnath outside the pit created by the collapse of the Underdark in Sarnath. As a Ranger, Ivan taught the early Dragon knights how to work and communicate with their new Dragon allies and is/ was a personal friend of every Dragon and Dragon knight. p.
Queen Mia of Aeirgolad p.
Queen Mia, the Elven wizard, is quite possibly the most intelligent being in all of Thanatops. She constructed the spell which made the construction of lich phylacteries impossible. Interestingly, during the first wars only the elves allowed females to join the army, and to make the alliance stable between Elves and human, elven females where asked to hide their gender. It was not until the 18th year of king Isaac’s reign that “King Miram” revealed her real name. p.
King Kraden the Blind of Aleph p.
King Kraden represented the native Orcs within the alliance and to this day has access to the largest army in the land. He personally slew the last emperor but was blinded in the process. His dragon usually accompanies him, in humanoid form, in order to serve as his eyes. His province can seem cruel and unforgiving to those unfamiliar to orcish culture but it is merely traditional, the standard of living is actually quite high.
