The Preisthood of Idunn formed while the Goddess still walked the earth and has evolved from a group of vagrant philosophes who followed here from town to town into a large rigid hierarchy. The most distinguishing factor of the Priests of this order is that they are immortal. Keeping on their person several of the Goddesses gems at any point in time they do not age and are resurrected from death. These Services can also be gained by the general populace through donations of time and capital to the church. A practice which has made the church very influential and very wealthy. All the major cities have several small temples to Idunn and many small towns also have one. Furthermore two large cathedral-monasteries have been built, one at the site of Idunn’s birth in the Market District of Vandril, and one at the site of her death near the middle of the kingdom. Each cathedral is administered by one of the two High Priests who formalized the church after Idunn’s death. p.
Quintus – The Amethyst Cathedral – Vandril p.
Tall, Gaunt, and possessing a voice most forceful for an elf Quintus has seen the expansion of the Churches assets right under the disapproving nose of King Isaac himself. Furthermore, he is responsible for the largest collection of gems anywhere in the kingdom. Carries the ceremonial crozier and shield of the goddess instead of the traditional short rod of a priest. p.
Caliban – The Topaz Gates – far Heliopolis countryside p.
Short, round, friendly, and bearing a beard impressive even for a dwarf Caliban can be seen as Quintus’ polar opposite. In fact much humor has been had at the fact that the priest at Idunn’s Birth site looks like a skeleton while the priest at her death site looks and acts more like a child. Caliban carries a book chained to his arm embedded with gems and containing the transcribed lessons of Idunn. p.
Recently the Church has found itself at odds with the rule of the Dragon Kings who have attempted to check the priesthoods growth and regulate the use of life magic. Furthermore the Church finds the Dragon Kings research into artificial life repulsive and similar to the actions of the lichs. They compare the construction and enslavement of the Warforged to the lichs creation of Humanoid slave races. That being said they have no love for the Warforged cause as they are considered soulless.
