The Home city of almost all the elves in Thanatops Aeirgolad is built over a series of springs which provide the majority of the kingdoms water, feeding both of the major rivers. The spring under the royal palace feeds lake Morganeria besides the city with its signature crimson waters. These waters will speed the ageing of any plants or animals who are exposed to it thousands of times. As such its consumption by humanoids is completely forbidden, however, it is a treasured resource to many of Thanatops Farmers who pay premium to irrigate out the precious waters. The Royal palace is actually grown out of a gargantuan Ash tree which grew with one of the Goddess Idunn‘s gems in its roots. Since the tree cannot die of old age it benefits from the Lake’s red water indefinitely. Its spacious interior is carefully groomed by the queen herself and her servants into a building matched in size by only the Dragon Castle of Vandril. The Church is furious with Queen Mia for refusing to surrender the gem, but she defends her choice by pointing out that were she to do so, the greatest organism in Thanatops would die. The Elven city has always been seen as distant and aloof by the others and interaction is minimal. Additionally the Palace is guarded by a population of Dryads loyal to the queen known as the Handmaidens.
